Elizabeth Impastato Elizabeth Impastato studied Health Art at the University of St. Frances at Joliet, Illinois where she received her Bachelor of Science. She has a degree in Commercial Art from Delgado Community College. She also attended LSUMC, where she earned her Respiratory Therapy License. Growing up in Louisiana, she has always appreciated the history and romance the city holds. Elizabeth spent a lot of time as a child caring for her parents that suffered with chronic illnesses, allowing her to hunger for painting as a way to express emotion while connecting Science to learn about human health. The connection of Art & Science holds true for her adult life as well leaving the pharmaceutical world behind following her love for art. Impastato Gallery & Art Therapy is where you can find her in the art zone, helping others discover how art can help with stress and improve health. The walls are full of her artwork.
Typical of her style is the use of texture and brush work with under-painting giving a spontaneous result. She enjoys using color to create interest and unusual combinations, seeing color in areas that most take for granted. Elizabeth Impastato spends countless hours honing her technique and experimenting with new subject matters keeping her paintings fresh and appealing. She is most recognized for her Street Car paintings. Impastato paints only one a year to not limit her creativity. Her artwork is represented in galleries and is found in corporations, civic and educational institutions and private collections locally and through out the US. Awarded Best Artist & Best Gallery by Northshore. Received two years now for EXPERTISE award, best painting instructor in Louisiana. Healing Arts Show Artist for St Tammany Hospital.
